Agribusiness & Crop Shippers

Your field logs already hold the answers. They just are not readable yet.

124 Delta Technologies builds private Claude workspaces for Salinas Valley growers, coolers, and shippers — so harvest logs, cooler intake sheets, and compliance paperwork stop being a manual reconciliation job.

The Daily Friction

Three systems that were never designed to talk to each other.

Most operations we meet are running some combination of a rigid ERP, a sprawl of spreadsheets, and paper clipboard logs coming in from the field. Each one is fine on its own. The cost is in the seams between them.

A compliance manager ends up as the integration layer — reading a handwritten field log, finding the matching cooler intake sheet, checking it against what a particular distributor requires this season, and retyping the result into a format the retailer will accept. It is skilled work being spent on transcription.

Rigid ERP

Systems like Famous Software do what they were built to do, but bend badly when a buyer changes a reporting requirement.

Spreadsheet sprawl

The real operating logic ends up in Excel, understood in full by one person who cannot take a holiday during harvest.

Paper from the field

Clipboard logs arrive handwritten, damp, and out of order — then have to be keyed in before they are useful to anyone.

What We Build

A workspace that reads the mess the way your office manager does.

Traceability and food safety reporting is the workflow we are asked about most, so it is the one worth describing concretely. Here is how the build actually goes:

  1. We map your existing protocolNot a generic template — your lot codes, your cooler sheets, your buyers’ specific compliance mandates, exactly as they are today.
  2. We load your rules into a private workspaceYour formats, your terminology, your thresholds. The assistant learns your operation rather than a textbook version of one.
  3. It reads raw, unstructured field logsTyped, scanned, and inconsistently formatted records are handled reliably. Handwriting is genuinely harder — we test it against your real sheets first and flag low-confidence reads for a person rather than guessing.
  4. It cross-checks against cooler intake dataFlagging temperature gaps and mismatches between the field record and what arrived, before a buyer finds them.
  5. It drafts the retail-ready compliance reportFormatted to the standard that specific distributor expects. A person reviews and signs off — always.

Nothing is filed automatically. The workspace prepares the paperwork; your compliance manager approves it. That separation is deliberate — in an audit, a human signed off.

The Honest Version

What this does not do.

We would rather set expectations correctly than win an engagement and disappoint you in week three.

  • It does not replace your ERP. It works alongside it, handling the reading and reformatting between systems.
  • It does not remove the need for a compliance manager. It removes the transcription work so that person can do the judgement work.
  • It does not file anything with a buyer or agency on its own. A person approves every submission.
  • It will not be perfect on your worst handwriting on day one. We tune it against your real paperwork, and we show you the failure cases rather than hiding them.
Straight Answers

What growers ask us first.

Our field data is messy and handwritten. Can an AI assistant actually read it?

This is the first question nearly every grower asks, and it is the right one. Claude handles unstructured text far better than rule-based software, because it was built for language rather than for tidy database fields. On typed and scanned records it infers from context rather than failing on a missing column, much as an experienced office manager would. Handwriting is the harder case and we will not pretend otherwise — accuracy depends heavily on legibility, so we configure it to flag uncertain reads for a person rather than quietly guess. We start by testing against your genuinely worst paperwork, not a clean sample, so you see the real answer before committing to anything.

Does our crop and customer data leave our control?

No. Your records live inside your own private Claude workspace under your administrative control. Anthropic’s commercial terms for Claude Team and Enterprise provide that customer content is not used to train their models. We do not keep copies of your files on our systems.

Do we have to replace Famous Software or our existing ERP?

No. We deliberately work alongside whatever you already run. The workspace sits next to your ERP and spreadsheets and handles the manual reading, matching, and reformatting between them. Ripping out a working system mid-season is how operations get broken.

When is the right time of year to start?

Ideally before peak harvest, so the workspace is already tuned when volume climbs. But we scope the first step small enough that it does not compete with your season — the initial engagement is a working session, not a systems migration.

Start Small

Bring us your worst paperwork.

The first session is a working session, not a contract. Bring the log sheet nobody wants to key in, and we will show you what it looks like handled — before anything connects to a system you depend on.
